Nice school to attend, the programs are nice and teachers actually help you. Yes there are students who DO smoke weed (as that happen in almost any school, even Elementary and Middle schools) but students who do smoke are punished accordingly. Haven't heard of anyone carrying a gun to school, although a student accidentally carried a hunting riffle in his car and no one was harmed. Though there are teachers there who wants you to drop out of their class, there are teachers who actually wants you to succeed. The custodians try their best with cleaning up the place but almost every other day, the floor is dirty or there are insects, like spiders and bedbugs, in the classroom.
This is a great school,but sometimes the staff can be rude and disrespectful to the students.
The experience at Westwood is based off what you make it out to be so if you go in their with your head in the books you are sure to be successful if you go in their with your head in other stuff other then books then you might not be successful it's all about commitment and dedication you get out what you put in at the end of the day my experience at Westwood was sometimes challenging and I sometimes thought everyone was out to get me teachers, admin and all but then one day I took a look in the mirror and I said it might not be everyone else maybe its me so I did a 360 my attitude changed my grades started looking better and more people liked me and I got out what I put in I got good grades because I put in hard work and dedication. Dedication, Hard Work and Commitment is the key to your success and most definitely utilize your resources such as the Library, Tutoring services and most important your Chromebooks if you need extra help go to your teachers face to face and let them know I need help on this assignment or theirs something I don't understand utilize communication and make sure you give feedback when you don't understand those two things are also keys to your success. I am currently attending Muller Road Middle School, and can confirm that there are numerous rumors about this school. People automatically assume that this is the "ghetto school" and that you only attend if you have nowhere else to go. However, I believe that this school is a high functioning facility. Perhaps one of the best. The guidance counselor told us that if there is any fighting on campus that the involved students will be arrested and recommended for expulsion. I don't have a choice of what high school I want to go to, but if I did I would still probably attend West wood High School.
